What Drives EUR/JPY
EUR/JPY is driven by the ECB/BoJ rate differential (currently very wide — ECB rates above 3%, BoJ near-zero). The pair tends to fall sharply when global risk appetite deteriorates (JPY safe-haven demand) and rise when risk appetite is strong (carry trade: borrow JPY, buy EUR). ECB decisions and BoJ interventions are the key scheduled events.
